The team at InTouch doesn’t just treat symptoms — they embrace the whole person. With an arsenal that includes education, rehabilitation, and preventative strategies, they don’t just manage conditions; they empower individuals on their journey toward lasting wellness.

Here’s what sets InTouch apart

Education

Knowledge is power, and empowering patients to understand their conditions paves the way for informed choices about treatment options.

Rehabilitation

Recovery isn’t merely about healing—it’s also about reclaiming strength and mobility. InTouch crafts personalised rehab programs that guide patients back to total health.

Preventative Treatments

Preventative measures are key components of InTouch’s service suite to maintain peak musculoskeletal function before problems arise.

Chiropractic Care

A chiropractor is a primary care doctor specialising in the health and functionality of the spine and other joints. Their expertise includes prevention, precise diagnosis, and non-invasive treatment for disorders related to the spine and other joint-related discomforts.

Chiropractors use adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system. They help patients maintain optimal health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery.

In addition to adjustments, chiropractors provide soft tissue therapies, lifestyle recommendations, fitness coaching, and nutritional advice.

The word chiropractic means to be done by hand.

Chiropractic adjustments are all about getting your joints back to moving right. Think of it as a precise nudge in the right spot to help things work smoothly again. Let’s say you take a tumble or push yourself too hard, and it throws your spine or another joint out of place. That twist or turn can pull at your muscles, pinch nerves, and cause trouble elsewhere in your body. If you don’t fix these issues, they might stick around and lead to long-term hassles. But that’s where chiropractors step in – they aim to ease the ache, get you moving more freely, and boost your body’s performance.

InTouch Chiropractors collaborate with other healthcare providers every day. They will always refer you to the appropriate specialist when needed.

Physiotherapy at InTouch Clinic

Physiotherapy

A physiotherapist is a healthcare professional specialising in treating injuries and conditions that impact movement. They work with patients to help manage pain, balance, mobility, and motor function, taking a holistic approach that addresses not only the physical aspects of well-being but also emotional, psychological, and social well-being.

InTouch physiotherapists aim to restore and enhance functional mobility and strength, optimise daily living activities, alleviate or manage pain, and guide you toward a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Physiotherapists play a vital role at every step of healthcare. They help prevent health issues and educate people on staying healthy. When someone gets hurt or sick, they step in to treat them. After treatment, they assist with rehab to improve the patient’s quality of life. Their goal is simple: to make patients’ lives better every day.

InTouch physiotherapists may use one or a combination of the following therapeutic modalities to achieve your treatment goals:

  • Functionally therapeutic exercises
  • Self-care and home management
  • Physical agents, mechanical, and or thermal modalities
  • Electrotherapeutic modalities
  • Manual therapy
  • Dry needling
  • Hydrotherapy

Our Additional Services

Functional Exercise Rehabilitation

Functional medicine changes the focus from just fixing where it hurts to finding and fixing the reason why it hurts.

Functional exercise rehabilitation is an intricate part of a patient’s care plan, with the main goal of returning them to work and play whilst providing tools to prevent further injury.

Functional exercise rehab takes physical therapy up a notch, mixing agility and awareness drills to help you bounce back to your pre-injury hustle without fearing another setback.

Exercise rehab can help people of all ages with issues with their bones, joints, muscles, brain, nerves, heart, lungs, or breathing.  The treatment plan is customised for each person to help them move better, understand their body more, and participate in activities again while lowering the chances of getting hurt again.

Every patient gets a rehab plan tailored just for them, focusing on their specific injury and what they enjoy. We craft each rehab workout to directly confront obstacles, boosting health and fluidity of movement and spurring patients on to uncover what their bodies can achieve with the right push.

Your functional rehab program may include:

 Hydrotherapy

At InTouch Hydrotherapy, immerse yourself in a warm-water pool for rehabilitation exercises that address various health concerns. Our therapy is ideal for treating general joint pain, lower back discomfort, orthopedic and neurological conditions, arthritis-related pain, sports injuries, fibromyalgia symptoms, as well as post-surgical recovery.

Sports Rehabilitation

Sports physiotherapists hone in on keeping athletes clear of injuries and help them bounce back when sidelined. Sports physiotherapists partner with athletes to tackle muscle strains and joint issues and to boost their performance after injuries.

Sports physios craft personalised exercise regimes and apply direct treatments to help athletes recover and enhance their performance.

A sports chiropractor has a specific focus on treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions related to sports and exercise. Sports chiropractors aim to realign joints, balance muscles, and correct how athletes move to keep them at the top of their game.

At InTouch, our sports physiotherapists and sports chiropractors are pros at what they do, working together for the betterment of the athlete.

Physiotherapists at InTouch have sport-specific skills such as injury assessment, therapeutic exercises, concussion management, taping, bracing, and even first aid.

Sports chiropractors focus on adjustments and manual therapy techniques.

With their knack for muscle work through massage and exercises, physiotherapists team up with sports chiropractors who are experts at adjustments; together, they’re vital to a sportsperson’s recovery and performance edge.

Your sports rehab program may include:

Strength and Conditioning

At InTouch Clinic, our meticulously crafted strength and conditioning programs enable athletes to diminish their injury risk and expedite their recovery process. The advantages of engaging in our program may include enhanced speed, agility, power, endurance, mobility, stability, balance, and overall durability.

Pitchside Care

At InTouch Clinic, we have years of experience providing pitchside physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and first aid services for diverse sports, such as rugby, Gaelic football, netball, boxing, motorbikes, swimming, marathons, triathlon, Iron Man, Spartan, volleyball, and Formula One.

Our expertise extends across a broad spectrum of fitness disciplines, including the latest in injury testing and screening. We excel in soft tissue therapy, utilising techniques such as scraping and kinesio taping to enhance performance and aid recovery. In addition to pitchside first aid and CPR, our team is adept at concussion management and immediate control of acute injuries.

Post-match care is a critical focus; we provide thorough injury assessments followed by meticulous management protocols. We are dedicated to facilitating ongoing rehabilitation with comprehensive return-to-play strategies—these work to restore function whilst fortifying against future injuries through tailored prevention plans.

Podiatry

A podiatrist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the care of feet and ankles. They diagnose and treat various foot and ankle conditions, perform physical exams, and provide treatments, including minor surgery.

Podiatrists can treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Injuries and complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes
  • Nail infections
  • Foot infections
  • Smelly feet
  • Heel pain
  • Heel spurs
  • Dry or cracked heel skin
  • Flat feet
  • Hammer toes
  • Neuromas
  • Sprains
  • Arthritis
  • Foot injuries
  • Foot ligament or muscle pain

Speech and Language Therapy

Guided by expert speech-language pathologists (SLP), individuals facing speech and language difficulties receive personalised aid to enhance their communicative abilities. SLPs are communication experts working on speech and language issues for folks from toddlers right up to seniors. The therapy aims to sharpen your ability to chat, sort out language issues, boost speech tactics, and tackle any challenges with swallowing.

Speech Therapist treat:

  • Speech disorders, such as articulation disorders (difficulty making sounds) and fluency disorders (affecting the flow, speed, and rhythm of speech).
  • Language disorders, which can affect a person’s ability to learn to speak, name objects, and build complete sentences.
  • Swallowing problems, where therapy aims to improve swallowing function.
Manual therapy

A skilled manual therapist uses their hands to promote quickening injury healing, soothe symptoms, and boost overall health. Manual therapy is a gentle, proactive approach to speed up injury recovery and maintain good health.

InTouch manual therapists are highly trained, caring professionals who work closely with the chiropractors and physiotherapists on the team. With skilled hands, a manual therapist aims to relieve discomfort and enhance tissue health through tailored pressures and movements.

Hijama and Dry Cupping

Traditional hijama treatments are offered at InTouch by a licensed hijama therapist.

Hijama therapy, a time-honored health practice, uses cupping to suction the skin, pulling out blood through small incisions in the skin and potentially easing pain while boosting circulation. Blood circulation and overall health may improve through hijama therapy.

Dry cupping is a form of cupping therapy that involves creating a vacuum or suction force inside a cup, which is then placed on the skin to draw the skin upward. Unlike wet cupping (hijama), dry cupping does not involve making incisions or drawing blood.

If you have ever noticed a pattern of round marks on your favorite pro athlete’s back, this was likely from dry cupping. The goal of treatment is to gently pull on the skin to ramp up blood flow, speed up the healing process, and dial down pain from various ailments.

InTouch physical therapists offer dry cupping as a part of wellness and rehab programs when appropriate.
